 About Valerie Nicole...
Valerie Nicole has been described as a sweet and soulful singer with a powerful edge. Singing and playing acoustic guitar and keyboard, Valerie provides an amazing performance that you will not soon forget! Born and raised in Birdsboro, PA, Valerie realized her passion for singing at a very young age. From elementary through high school, Valerie involved herself in every musical opportunity which presented itself from instrumentals, choral, and musical performances. Valerie took lessons for both the flute and piano to help round out her musical aptitude. After high school, Valerie attended Elizabethtown College where she studied music education from 2001-2005. She began to learn guitar and experience her first ever songwriting adventure. Her hard work and focus paid off when Valerie was recognized and honored with the Theodore Presser Scholarship for Outstanding Achievement as a Music Major in 2004. After graduation in 2005, Valerie took a job as a music teacher but soon realized that teaching was not enough to fulfill her dreams and knew her true passion was to become a fulltime singer/songwriter. Valerie began performing at every ‘open mic’ in town and entering into any and all singing competitions. It was her unfettered determination and drive which elicited the attention of an A&R rep who arranged a meeting with Warner/Chappel. Valerie Nicole was awarded 3rd place in the singer/songwriter category at the Summer 2007 American Model and Talent Competition. A renewed faith and encouragement propelled Valerie toward her future goals as she relocated in to Birdsboro, PA to set her sights on success! Valerie lists her musical influences as Norah Jones, Jewel, Michelle Branch, Joss Stone, Vanessa Carlton and Alicia Keys. Valerie states that, “I am most inspired by independent artists who pursue their music career out of passion and determination and aren't in it for the big record deal, but because they love what they do.” She finds most of her inspiration from the events in her life as well as current events when writing songs. Valerie Nicole wants to share her music and her passion for music with whoever will listen! She is looking forward to new opportunities and discovering where her career can take her. Currently touring mostly in Pennsylvania, her goals are to book in outlying areas and get her music licensed for tv/film/radio!
